I’ve just started a blog to chronicle my attempt to land the “best job in the world” down at the Great Barrier Reef, and have been trying to figure out ways to get people to the blog, and to stay at the blog.

I’ll be implementing all of these things in the next couple of weeks to see what happens (especially the pillar articles and encouraging comments, two things I can do tomorrow). Thanks again!

Pillar articles are cool. But I find articles tat provide solution to a prob more effective than just a lengthy post. I want to try blog carnival. Reg the article tat brings u more visitors, tats pbly coz google indexed it under the primary index n not in the supplemental index n matches keyword searches. Did u consider adding related posts to that article page to grab visitors attention??

Me too . he knows what he is talking about. Abt the biggest msg “write well n tell everyone”, i guess the 2nd part is difficult for me, (being a modest girl i’ve been all my life lol:). SERPS are the best, what say??

I am in the interesting position of having 90% of my traffic arriving for a post that was essentially a “note to self”. It is completely off-topic (related to the plumbing in my parents’ house) but brings in the most visitors.

The only real way to reverse this trend is to create some key pillar articles that will attract an equal (and hopefully greater) number of visitors.
